President's Message
Since our very 1st tournament back in 1982, it is a time-honored tradition to host the San Jose Ninja Tournament every Easter weekend. For over 40 years, teams from Southern California, Sacramento, San Francisco, and the entire Bay Area converge in San Jose for a fun filled weekend on and off the court. The combination of watching teams throughout the state play highly competitive basketball games while reconnecting with friends is what makes the tournament so special. The 2024 Ninja Tournament is shaping up to be one of our best to date and we are grateful for the continued support from all participating teams!
We invite all of you to come to the Santa Clara Marriott on Saturday night. Our Ninja families have been preparing for months and are looking forward to your attendance at the Adult Social, High School Social, and Middle School Social. You will see friends and acquaintances that you have not seen for years and at the same time meet new people who might be joining us for the first time. These socials are a major highlight of the Ninja Tournament and we hope to see you there!
A very big thank you goes out to the Ninja Board of Directors, Tournament Committee, Social Committees, and Ninja Families, for spending countless hours in making this weekend possible. I would especially like to recognize Cynthia Kashima (Tournament Director), Keith Morikawa (Boys Tournament Director), Andy Namba and Jeff Young (Girls Tournament Directors) for working together and coordinating over 100 teams!
In October 2023, the Ninja Organization suffered a great loss. Our 12th grade boys Head Coach Dave Matsu passed away. Dave was a special man and is missed by all.
Good luck to all participants and we look forward to seeing you back in 2025!
